THIS WALK MUST BE PRE-BOOKED
If you are a member go to the National Trust Visitor Car Park just north east of Corfe Castle.
If not a member then go to the Norden Park Car Park on the A351 BH20 5DW. Cash £4 all day. Then walk around via the roads or if you have a map use the footpath that follows the east side of the railway and then crosses the railway just before the National Trust Cark where the car park can be accessed.
There is free parking on the road north of the castle and in Sandy Hill Lane BH20 5JF but that gets filled up early.
The walk will start at the Bus Stop opposite the National Trust Cark where Bus Number 40 will be taken at 10.25 to Wareham.
The walk will follow the south side of the River Frome to Ridge and cross the heathland that is the Purbeck Heaths National Nature Reserve to Wytch Heath (woods). The heather should be out. Then it is south to cross the ridge near Rollington Hill and down the other side to Corfe Castle. 8.7 miles and 597 feet of ascent. Explorer Map OL15.
THERE IS NO MAXIMUM LIMIT FOR THE NUMBER OF WALKERS ON THIS WALK BUT YOU MUST BOOK A PLACE. If you would like to join this walk, please book a place by emailing the leader. Bookings must be made by 8pm the day before the walk. Please only attend the walk if you have received confirmation of your booking from the walk leader. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your booking so that the leader is aware you will not be going.
There are no facilities on route so take plenty to drink and a picnic lunch.
