A circular walk in the East Pentlands. Starting at Baddinsgill, the route heads up Glen Ely through woodland then climbs up Byrehope Mount. From Byrehope Mount the route descends on a broad ridge to Wolf Craigs, before climbing up Colzium Hill and the start of a prominent ridge that is followed northwards to West Cairn Hill. From West Cairn Hill the route descends to The Thieves Road which is followed back to Baddinsgill. Mainly hill paths, some poorly defined, and tracks. Need to cross a couple of fences. Sections can be boggy after wet weather. Ascents of Byrehope Mount and Colzium Hill are fairly steep. The descent off West Cairn Hill is fairly steep initially. Grade: Moderate (B). When visibility is good there are panoramic views across the Midland Valley and the Pentlands.
