Overview

Note: if you are planning to get to Cudham via Knockholt then you should take Shelleys Lane (narrow, winding, hilly) if there is a "Road Closed" sign on Main Road. The road works are supposed to finish on 7th August. If they have finished you may prefer to go as far as Cudham Lane (the road up from Brasted) and turn right.

After a brief descent and ascent near the start, the route takes a fairly flat path through woodland initially and then with lovely views high above West Kent Golf Course. We'll turn south to go through the pretty village of Downe and then descend steeply through woodland where Charles Darwin spent many hours. An ascent takes us to Hostye Farm and thence back to the start. Refreshment available at The Blacksmith's Arms afterwards.
