Overview

Join me for this lovely 6 mile easy Ramble on the outskirts of Stockport which, starting at 10am, will have you back in plenty of time to enjoy the Wimbledon finals.

From the free car park at Torkington Park, just off the A6 opposite The Rising Sun pub, SK7 6AB, we will cross the Hazel Grove golf course to reach the Middlewood Way where a shady stroll will take us to our only stop of the day for strawberrys and cream (well, Wimbledon finals day wouldn't be complete without it) then onto Torkington Brook. We leave the brook, crossing Stockport golf club to Broadoak Farm with its impressive moat, before making our way back across farmland to the car park.
