Overview

THIS IS THE RE-SCHEDULED DATE FOR THE WALK POSTPONED FROM 26 JAN DUE TO BAD WEATHER . LET'S HOPE FOR BETTER CONDITIONS ON THIS SECOND ATTEMPT

Please note the fresh date is now a SATURDAY not Sunday, to avoid a clash with Wight Sole who appear to be running a walk on the Sunday

A circular walk with a drinks or snack stop. Starting from Carisbrooke Priory car park (i.e. the free carpark on the bend opposite the Prior) . A familiar loop for some, and we did it last winter. This time we'll ring the changes and try it the other way round (anti-clockwise). We’ll head past the castle and Clatterford,  up onto part of the Tennyson trail, back via Bowcombe, Froglands. Nice walk, a bit of up at the start and downhill at the end but nothing too major. No stiles. Mud situation will be checked nearer the time and the website updated

No loos, cafes, or pubs en route, however there are in Carisbrooke

By car
Park at the Priory carpark at Carisbrooke (free). Or if that is full, there is an alternative honesty charity donation car park just a short way back down Castle Hill.

By public transport
Not the greatest to access by bus, but if you don’t mind a short wait there is a No 6 from Newport bus station at 09.50 which gets to Carisbrooke Priory at 09.57 (or less ideally, a No 7 or No 38 will take you to Carisbrooke and walk up to the Priory).

Car share
In the interests of the air, parking, and non-drivers, if anyone is able to offer, or needs, a carshare then please post on WhatsApp group. To join group if you're not already on it, please message Serena 07564-811690.
