We will cross the railway line and head across farmland to the Greensand Way, and on past Roydon Hall. George Harrison purchased Roydon Hall, but he later transferred ownership to the Transcendental Meditation Organization. Sadly it now stands empty and boarded up. We then visit St. Michaels Church, it was the original parish church before the newer Holy Trinity Church was built in 1842, when the village effectively moved. From there we pass a couple of follies in the grounds of Mereworth Castle and upon reaching Nettlestead, we cross back over the railway line and head back to Yalding along the Riverbank. Approximate finish time, 1.15pm.
Terrain: Good footpaths throughout comprising of farmland, the Medway riverbank, a couple of very quiet lanes and a stretch of the Greensand Way. There is a railway line to cross.
