York Ramblers - Whitby

The walk starts by the Salmon Leap Hotel and is about 8 miles, you will need to allow 6 hours for the walk. We will head North and cross a footbridge over the river Esk and then join a trod called Feather Bed Lane which is a steep climb and can be slippery at times. At the top there are lovely views of Whitby and the Abbey. The walk continues along the North side of the River Esk passing through Ruswarp and  on to the Fish Box in Whitby for a chippie lunch, those who do not want to participate can use the benches along the river. The return journey is along the southern side of the railway and river Esk. All are welcome to join us at the River Gardens Cafe YO211TB on completion of the walk
