Overview

We leave the car park and walk through the village, leaving south on Old Winchester Hill Lane and ascending to the nature reserve and hill fort at the top of the hill.  This will be the coffee stop.  We should have great views across the valley. Our route then takes us off the hill and round to Meonstoke and Exton.  At Exton we cross the River Meon, a classic chalk stream.  We join the SDW and ascend to our second hill fort and nature reserve at Beacon Hill, where we stop for lunch.  We leave the hill on the Monarch's Way via Pink's Hill Wood down to Warneford.  Then it's a couple of fields back to West Meon.
