A circular high-level walk from Aboyne to the Glen Tanar estate. After crossing Aboyne Bridge, we follow the community path route past Birsemore Loch and up around Birsemore Hill to cross the Fungle at ‘The Guard’. We then follow estate tracks around Craigendinnie, Black Craig and Red Craig, before dropping down to the river in Glen Tanar and back via Bridge of Ess and the community path to Aboyne. The walk is on established hill paths (muddy in places) and surfaced estate tracks, with two small stream crossings on stepping stones.
