We will meet at the car park above Crovie and begin this relatively strenuous energetic but enjoyable walk by heading down a steep, narrow lane towards the village of Crovie then descend a long flight of steps into the village. After exploring the village, the walk crosses a footbridge and then heads up a steep track. We then continue along a track with fine views across Gambie Bay to Gardenstown and then onto the RSPB reserve at Troup Head. There are lots of information boards en-route about the thousands of seabirds which nest here. Once we’ve completed the exploration of Troup Head we continue to a marked viewpoint ( 112m/367 feet high) overlooking the cliff face where gannets nest - the only mainland colony in Britain. The route then retraces back to the car park. There is an uphill stretch to reach the car park.
Parts of the route may be overgrown but information re this and the whole walk will be updated after a reconnaissance.
