A pleasant leisurely walk from Aldford starting with a loop to the river and back then crossing the road to head towards Churton. Walking on a mixture of paths, tracks and lanes. We pass through a wetland conservation area so bird watching enthusiasts may wish to bring binoculars. Expect mud and some uneven ground - so gaiters and walking poles could be useful!
Please note you are likely to come across a number of ‘road ahead closed’ signs after turning left off the A534 onto Sibbersfield Lane towards Churton and then to Aldford. Please ignore these signs! There is no problem getting to the car park in Aldford from THIS direction. (It is the bridge in Aldford which is closed during off peak hours, therefore preventing access to the village from a northerly direction.)
The car park is on Green Lake Lane, Aldford.
Please bring provisions for coffee and lunch stop and I look forward to seeing folks on Thursday.
