We are the Brighton and Hove Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A hilly circular walk from Alfriston to visit 2 Marilyns. We start with a short, steep climb and then gradually climb further along the South Downs Way towards Firle Beacon (217m), before descending towards Charleston Farmhouse and then continuing SE via Alciston to a picnic lunch at Berwick (with pub available for drinks) after ca. 7.5 miles. After lunch we continue via Wilmington before climbing up to Wilmington Hill (214m) and then descending back to our start point.
Cars required to Alfriston School (North Road - plenty of parking on residential streets nearby).
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers.
