Overview

Meet at 10am at Blaze Farm (toilets) for a moderate walk of about 8.5 miles (13.5km) with about 1750ft ascent.

Allow extra travel time, as road works south of Macclesfield on A523 and A54 are causing delays on some days.

Please bring a packed lunch, and stay at end for ice cream or tea, cake etc to celebrate a recent big birthday! If you don’t want to walk, but fancy a drive, please join us for ice cream etc, around 3pm. Everyone welcome.

Route is a squashed figure of eight shape, and includes Hammerton Knowl Farm - Cessbank Common - High Lee - Pot Lords - Gritstone Trail towards Ryles Arms - Haddon Farm - Oakenclough- Greenway Bridge - fields towards Wildboarclough - return along Clough Brook. There are great views in good weather.

At least six tricky stiles and a few short sections with quite difficult ground underfoot. Poles helpful if you use them.

If queries, text Helen on 07771-984-875.
