Overview

We will meet at the station at 09:00 and catch the 09:20 train from Delamere to Chester and walk back along the Baker Way. The rail fare is £4.95 with a railcard.

Having got to Chester Station (where there are toilets), the route goes along the canal to the outskirts of Chester and then is mainly through fields, passing through the village of Tarvin. There is a short section of somewhat busy road before the path finishes through the forest at Delamere.

Start: Delamere Station car park We will meet at the station at 09:00 and catch the 09:20 train from Delamere to Chester. Note that charges have recently been introduced in the station car park at Delamere. When I pulled into the car park to check last week there did not appear to be any ticket machines, but you are expected to pay by RingGo. The National Rail web site says there should be a ticket machine, so I may have missed it. The site also says that the charge should not exceed £2, but that was not clear from the notice board.
