Overview

We will walk from North Rigton through fields to Weeton & then Rougemont - which is an English Heritage nature reserve on the bank of the Wharfe - & then back through Huby & up to Almscliff Crag , from where there are great views over Wharfedale. We will then walk back to North Rigton where we can finish the walk at The Square & Compass.

We will be walking on field edges & lanes. We will probably meet cattle and some parts are likely to be muddy. There is about 250m of ascent, mostly on the approach to Almscliff Crag,  but nothing steep. There are plenty of stiles.

We can park in the car park of the Square and Compass in North Rigton (if you intend to use the pub after the walk) or on the roadside outside the pub.
