Overview

A circular walk of around 9 miles from Alvechurch Railway Station: taking in Alvechurch Marina, the Bittell Reservoirs, St Michael's Church, Cofton Hackett (known for its displays of daffodils), the Lickey Hills, Barnt Green and Withybed Green. The route uses the Worcester & Birmigham Canal, lanes, woodland trails and field paths - expect some muddy patches.

At around 7 miles, there will be the opportunity for anyone who wishes, to leave the walk at Barnt Green Station. There are a couple of inclines and 5 stiles.

Meet at the car park of Alvechurch Railway Station. The 09:21 scheduled train from Sutton Coldfield arrives at Alvechurch Station at 10:16. People with a WM Travel Card should buy an off-peak return ticket from Longbridge to Alvechurch. IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING THE TRAIN FROM SUTTON COLDFIELD (i.e. USING ANOTHER TRAIN STATION ON THE CROSS CITY LINE, OR GOING DIRECTLY TO THE START POINT), PLEASE TEXT ME DIRECTLY ON 07779697664 THE DAY BEFORE THE WALK IN CASE THERE ARE UNEXPECTED TRAIN ISSUES.
