We are the Stockport Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Ashford in the Water, Monsal Head, Sheldon and Sheepwash Bridge Circular.
This 7.5 mile circular walk will take us from the village of Ashford in the water, up to Monsal Head to take in long views over Monsal Dale and its viaduct. From there we drop down to and along the River Wye. We will cross over and go up through Deepdale Nature Reserve and sweep round to Sheldon before dropping back to the Sheepwash Bridge and back to the village.
Total elevation is 925 feet.
The walk is over limestone rocks in parts and can be slippy/dangerous if wet. Please ensure appropriate footwear. Poles would be helpful. There is livestock on the walk and dogs are not advised.
