Leaving the Angler's Rest Car Park we descend to Bamford Water Mill, via Fidlers Well & The Hollow, to cross over the River Derwent via the weir stone bridge. We then cross fields to join the Thornhill Trail through the nature reserve leading to Ladybower Dam. Crossing the dam, we pass the Ladybower Reservoir Commemorative Plaque before crossing the A6103 road to enter the woods below Bamford Moor. We then climb through the woods to reach the path that leads to Bamford Edge (400m). From here we have amazing views (on a clear day) over the valley and Ladybower Reservoir. Descending from Bamford Edge we reach The Clough, a steep tarmac path, to descend back to Bamford & the Angler's Rest.
