Bargany is a hidden gem. It is a much loved family home and private garden which is only ever open to the public each year in the month of May. This is an ideal opportunity for us to take in the gardens when they are at their very best. Within the gardens flowering Rhododendrons and Azaleas of every colour abound at this time of year, there is a boating pond, a rock garden and various pagodas and a hidden formal lawn. In the walled garden look out for trees such as the snake bark maple, tulip trees, Chilean flame trees and Magnolia.
This will be a relaxed and leisurely walk with some additional time built in to explore on your own, should you wish.
At the time of writing the weather is looking hot and sunny so please, remember sun screen and a sun hat. There are no cafe facilities so please remember to bring your usual snack and plenty of water.
Poles may be helpful on certain parts of woodland walks and the rock garden area.
Please note there is a £3.00 entrance fee which can be paid electronically or in cash (Honesty Box).
