A circuit of Beecraigs Country Park and the Bathgate Hills, exploring some of the area's mining and quarrying heritage. The walk will take in Hillhouse, Witch Craig, Cairnapple, the site of Hilderston Mine, The Knock and the Rifle Range Quarries. A mixture of forest paths, hardcore surfaced and unsurfaced paths, rough grassy tracks, and tussocky grass. There is about 1 km of tarmacadam road and a short (<200m) boggy section. Gradients are generally moderate to gentle, with several short, steep sections. A couple of fences to negotiate. Walk grading: Moderate (B). Appropriate footwear and clothing should be worn.
