We are the Livingston Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk starts at the Tesco long stay car park before following pavements to the canal basin and upwards to Hillhouse Woodland and Beecraigs. After a short stop at the Visitors Centre for refreshments before we will proceed past the Loch and into woodland. Return will be via the Hillhouse Woodlands and towpath of the Union Canal.
The terrain varies from tracks, woodland paths, towpaths, pavements and some road walking.
Along the route we will visit Learmouth Gardens, the ruins of the Carmelite Friary and the Beecraigs Country Park Visitors Centre.
There are toilets at Tesco, the Visitors Centre and the Balvormie barbecue site.
Meeting at Livingston North Railway Station, South side at 9.30am for car sharing
