This is an 8 mile circular walk starting at Linlithgow train station.On leaving the station we will be following the Union Canal for a while before entering the peaceful surrounds of Beecraigs park. The route will take us through Hillhouse Woodland and past the visitor centre in the park. The return path to Linlithgow will take us by Beecraigs Loch then across the canal once more before arriving back at Linlithgow railway station where we can catch a train back to Glasgow.
The terrain will be woodland paths, a canal towpath, pavements and tarmac park paths with some roadside stretches. If the weather is dry then comfortable walking shoes will do fine otherwise boots may be advisable.
