Overview

A shorter walk from Bolton’s Bench, Lyndhurst to enjoy the New Forest across open heathland and through the enclosures. We’ll mainly follow bridleways and should avoid the mud.

10:00 am
Estimated finish time:
12:30 pm
Difficulty:
Leisurely
Distance:
8.9km / 5.5mi

Please note, we’ll start at the earlier time of 10:00 as the Bolton’s Bench car parks can get busy.

There are a number of car parks at Bolton’s Bench. Park where you can, and we’ll meet up at the Bench itself…which is the large yew tree on top of the mound (see photo), that you’ll see as you drive in from the main road.

There will be one short stop for a coffee/ snack mid-way around the walk.

Dogs are welcome but given the presence of grazing animals they must be kept under effective control. Any doubts, please refer to the New Forest National Park dog walking code.

Optional drinks afterwards at the Mailmans Arms, which we can walk to from the car park.
