We are the Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Pre-registration preferred **
Moderate to brisk 10 mile/16.1km anti-clockwise walk (with plenty of ascent!). Pub lunch in Mickleham. Afternoon section can be shortened if daylight/speed of group necessitates.
Route: A24 underpass, Burford Bridge, ascent to Box Hill viewpoint via The Whites, descent onto Pilgrim's Way, east at bottom of North Downs along Oak Wood, up through Box Hill village into Headley Heath, past High Ashurst and Cockshot Cottage, up onto White Hill and onto Mickleham Downs, descent through wood to Mickleham for lunch, across A24 and gently up onto Norbury Park, loop around Updown Wood, descent into Mole Valley via Druids Grove and Beech Wood, river meadows to Station.
Lunch Stop: Mickleham for pub lunch at King William IV or Running Horses.
Meet at Box Hill & Westhumble Station at 10.40.
Travel: Victoria 09.41/Clapham Junction 09.48/Ewell East 10.19 - Southern train - arr 10.37.
Ticket/Fare: Off-Peak Return £11.10/SRC £7.30/SRC+FP £3.85 (FP buy from Ewell East)
Finish: Box Hill & Westhumble Station for trains to Victoria (Southern) or Waterloo (SWestern).
