Overview

A moderate-paced 11.4 mile walk in the Hertfordshire countryside with some gentle undulations.  No drop-out points.

Route: through woodland, the landscaped parkland of Brocket Hall, Lamer House and Ayot Place, and fields. 

Lunch stop at the pretty village of Ayot St Lawrence, where there is a pub and small green by the old church for picnic lunches. Please bring adequate food with you as there may not be time for a pub lunch.

Meet at 10.36 at Welwyn Garden City Station (on arrival platform or at entrance to the Howard Shopping Centre).

Travel:  King's Cross 10.06/Finsbury Park 10.12/Alexandra Palace 10.17 - Great Northern train - arr 10.36.

Ticket/Fare: Buy Off-Peak Day Return to Welwyn Garden City.
