Overview

An interesting new walk for Newark ramblers around the Bradgate Park area. Starting from Swithland wood south car park  there will be a coffee stop at Windmill Hill with stunning country views, and cover if it’s wet.

From there it's up  to Beacon Hill trig point where there are views over Leicestershire and beyond with tables for the lunch stop. From there its back down to Old John Tower, with a view of Bradgate house remains, then back to the car park. This is a dog friendly walk.

Most of the walk is on hard standing ground with a few parts that could be wet underfoot. If you have binoculars this is a great walk to use them.

Please register for this walk on Newark Ramblers website where you can also find details of our car share scheme.
