This is a walk of about 12 miles, commencing from Breach Downs, which lies just south of Barham, within a picturesque area of the Kent Downs.
Heading south, our route passes through Clip Gate Wood, before joining a section of the Elham Valley Way (EVW) at a byway to take us through Thomas Acre Farm. The circuit meanders over to Bladbean, then north through Covert Wood and onward to Bishopsbourne to rejoin the EVW.
The group will walk through Charlton Park, before arrival at Kingston, where the Black Robin awaits for a pit stop, this is a good pub that we've used previously on walks in this area.
Keeping to the EVW, our route takes us to the wonderfully named Heart's Delight, then onward to Jumping Downs and on a minor road between Covert Wood and Collardshill Wood. Finally we turn in a northerly direction for the completion of this exploration of a fine section of the Kent Downs.
As well as the obligatory pub stop, we will have our usual short picnic lunch at a suitable point for the luncheon adjournment.
Dogs welcome, but on a short lead when required.
