A walk of great variety on high moorland and taking in spectacular Bretton Clough. We start from Sir William Hill at an height of approximately 350 metres and explore some of the stunning landscapes between Eyam and Middleton Dale and the Hope Valley. The route takes us via Bretton Clough, Abney, Abney Clough, Stoke Ford and Eyam Moor.
There are steep descents and ascents on this walk and walking poles are recommended, along with stout footwear, as the terrain will vary considerably. As this is a high moorland walk the weather can change rapidly and be cooler than at lower altitudes and waterproof gear is a must.
Please also bring good supplies of food and drink and completed ICE cards.
