BURLEY AND HOLMSLEY
Meet at the Holmsley Car Park. To get there go south west from Lyndhurst on the A35. At Holmsley pass the turn offs for Burley on both sides of the road and continue uphill on the A35. At the top of the hill turn right on a very minor road with 40mph signs on both sides. It descends down through Holmsley Woods to a stream and a ford and then climbs up the other side. Just after breaking out of the woods look for the Holmsley Car park on the right down a gravel track. Bring refreshments and plenty to drink.
The circular walk will go via Burbush Hill, Dur Hill Down and Thorney Hill and Holmsley Inclosure. Almost all off-road through heathland and mature woodland. A very attractive part of the New Forest. Opportunity to go to the Holmsley Tea Rooms afterwards for lunch.
