We start by walking though the historic town of Buxton and the lovely Pavilion Gardens, before heading uphill through a golf course and making our way out onto the open moor. After a short stop at the abandoned tunnel entrance of the Cromford and High Peak Railway, we make our way across the moorland. We then walk along both banks of Errwood and Fernilee Reservoirs before heading uphill again to the church at Taxal and on to the finish at Whaley Bridge.
There is some moorland walking with muddy paths and steep steps. Some parts may be slippery, so please wear appropriate footwear.
A good level of fitness is required for this walk and it is not suitable for novice walkers.
