Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform at Piccadilly Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train, or at the Walk Start at Bamford Station.

Transport to Walk Start: 09:48 train from Manchester Piccadilly to Bamford (End point Sheffield). This will be a busy train, so get on as soon as it is at the platform to secure seats.

Suggested Ticket: Off-Peak Day Return to Bamford.£15.10

Walk Start: At Bamford Station at 10:40

Waypoints: Thornhill, Aston Hall, Edge Farm, Win Hill, Win Hill Plantation, The Springs, Ladybower Reservoir Dam, Bamford Edge, Bamford Clough, Bamford (the Anglers Rest and The Tricky Trout Tea Room).

Extra: There are no toilets at Bamford Station. Assume no working toilet on the train. There are no toilets on the walk. Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs).

The views and scenery should be spectacular.

Starting at Bamford station, we head along to Thornhill, and then Aston Hall, before ascending Win Hill via Edge Farm. After Win Hill, we descend through the plantation, turning left towards The Springs, for an easier descent (We avoid Parking Clough, which is steep and slippy). We then cross the Ladybower dam and ascend to the site of hut circles on Bamford Edge. After walking along Bamford Edge, we descend Bamford Clough to Bamford Village, where there’s a choice between the Anglers Rest or the Tricky Trout Tearoom, or you can just go straight back to the station.
