Welcome to Capital Walkers, the friendly London Ramblers group for people aged 40+. We walk every weekend and usually at least once during the week.
The walk starts at Canary Wharf Jubilee Line Station (a few minutes walk from the Canary Wharf DLR and Elizabeth Line stations, if you prefer them to the Jubilee Line) and we meet just outside the main exit, in Jubilee Plaza (I’ll stand next to the large 3D “Canary Wharf” sign, next to Eden Dock). There are toilets in the shopping mall next to the station (at same level as ticket barriers), which are usually open. Please use them before joining the walk.
We will walk through Millwall Docks to Millwall Park and Mudchute Farm. Then on to the Thames Path. From there we’ll head north and cross the River Lea. Then we’ll follow the Thames to the Thames Barrier and leave the river to walk around City Airport. Via the Royal Docks, we’ll finish at Custom House station. We’ll see many interesting sights, along the way.
Lunch (30 minutes) will be taken around midday, somewhere along the Thames Path, so please bring a packed lunch.
There are numerous potential exit points along the way, with regular bus services close to the path, and train/tube stations not too far from the path. All within the Oyster/Freedom Pass zone.

The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
