This is a great scenic circular route in the Black Mountains taking you to Grwyne Fawr Reservoir and Twmpa (Lord Hereford's Knob)
Starting at the hamlet of Capel-Y-Ffin In the Vale Of Ewyas the route heads off following the Cambrian Way to the ridgeline of Y-Fan before heading down to Grwyne Fawr Reservoir.
From the reservoir you follow Grwyne Fawr to Blaen Grwyne Fawr, here you turn right at the Ordnance Survey Post to follow the Cambrian Way to Twmpa.
At Twmpa turn right, to continue along the Cambrian Way across the ridgeline of Darren Lwyd to Capel-Y-Ffyn.
Parking and start point: the hamlet of Capel-Y-Ffin.
No toilets. Exposed and high level so expect cold conditions. In the event of bad weather an alternative low-level walk will be offered.
Maximum 15 people. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
