A very pleasant walk in the parkland and countryside of the Castle Howard Estate. From the main car park we head north alongside the Great Lake to the Coneysthorpe road and into the park . Crossing New River Bridge we continue through East Moor Banks Wood to the Four Faces Monument and onwards to the village of Welburn. Walking up the hill from the Church we go west to the road then south to enter Monument Plantation woods where the paths eventually take us to Wandales Lane and to Bulmer Village. Leaving Bulmer we walk over fields to Brandrith Wood and up the side of the road to the Temperance Inn and the car park. Field paths, woodland tracks and short stretches of minor roads. Good views.
There will be cattle in the park close to New River Bridge but won't be a problem as they are used to the many people walking this path.
