Overview

Visit the only lake in the Yorkshire Dales and follow the footsteps of the Romans.

Leaving Bainbridge village green we cross the bridge and turn right at the first bend signposted Semerwater.

Following the River Bain on grassy paths to Semerwater where we have coffee.

Follow path on the south shore to the nature reserve and the church ruins.

Pass through Marsett and then a steep climb with great views up to the Roman Road which we then follow back to Bainbridge.
