Castleton & Hope - Short Walk

This is a relatively easy walk in the Hope Valley with mostly undulating terrain. From the cars we walk towards Mam Tor and take the footpath past the disused Oden Mine and then Knowlegates and Dunscar Farms to Hollowford Road. We take this towards the Training and Conference Centre veering off just before to walk along field paths towards Hope. In Hope we pass the school and church (toilets available nearby) and cross the main A6187. We walk down the lane past the pinfold and then take the footpaths via stiles across fields to Castleton. There are plenty of places here to have lunch or other refreshments and more toilets are available. The remainder of the walk is along the road back to the cars. Please bring a drink and a snack for our break part way through the walk.
