The walking route takes us north towards Ystradfellta across beautiful countryside, woodland, lots of falls (the water kind), and the largest river cave in Wales. No major climbs but nevertheless a strenuous walk. We will take our time so return to cars circa 4pm. Note as you drive through Pontneddfechan on the right is the Sgwd Gwladys which serves coffee and snacks from 9.00am. There is a small public toilet opposite this. The free Dinas Rock car park is about a five minutes’ drive from here. Poles will be useful and assume wet conditions with mud in places.
