Overview

BOOKING REQUIRED to receive last minute updates.

From Clifton Country Park we will follow the Kingfisher Trail through the village of Ringley to walk along the Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal to where it crosses the junction of the Croal and Irwell rivers. We will reach Moses Gate Country Park via Nob End and then join the Bolton and Bury Canal to return to Clifton via the Outwood Trail and Ringley Woods which has a profusion of bluebells in late spring.  Risk assessment: The walk follows clear and well maintained tracks but these can become extremely muddy after rain. There are three short ascents via steps and a steep but again short descent through Ringley WoodsAs we leave the Outwood Trail for Ringley Woods, we cross the A667 on a sharp bend. A number of the tracks are also bridleways. As there are numerous stables in thevicinity, we can expect to meet riders.
