Overview

A circular walk in the ex-mining countryside near Mansfield - but there's little sign of it now!  Much is on the ex-railway lines that used to serve the collieries so mostly good paths.  A diversion to the top of Silverhill Colliery pit-tip (not looking like one now!) will provide views.  Few if any stiles.

Toilets and a cafe at the start and also partway round.  Bacon butties available for early arrivals!

Please register for this walk on Newark Ramblers website where you will also find details of our car share scheme.

Meet at the car park for Pleasley Country Park, just off the A617 near Mansfield. The cafe at the engine house will probably be open, there are toilets there. It's not a huge car park so car share if possible. I'll find out if we can use the winding engine/cafe car park too - I'm not sure if it gets locked later.
