This very popular destination offers the opportunity for our Walk Leaders to take you up the Old Man of Conistion or a walk to Tarn Hows a bit lower down. Mybe you will be tempted to just walk the lakeside path along the edge of Coniston Water. Not walking? Then a trip on the ferry and a vist to Brantwood could be on the cards.
Three walks will be on offer, with details circulated on the coach. They will range from easy to strenuous depending on the walk selected.
A Walk Leader - Dave White
B Walk Leader - Janet Loines - A circular walk of approximately ten & half miles with 1796ft of ascent following the Cumbria Way from Coniston taking in the beatiful lake of Tarn Hows, Little Langdale, Cathedral Cavern and the quarry of Hodge Close. Returning via Yewdale. Please note the route may change if conditions change.
C Walk Leader - Dave Eccles - Six & half to seven miles with 520ft of ascent. Starting in the centre of Coniston with a gradual climb up towards the disused railway line, now a permissive path. Followed by Park Coppice, then into Brackenbarrow Farm, turning eastward towards the west side of Coniston Water and following the Cumbria Way back into Coniston.
