Heading south west from Coxwold and uphill to Beacon Banks, then onwards to Husthwaite for a coffee stop. Turning north our route goes through the fields of Angram, Wildon and Low Kilburn Grange farms to enter the pretty village of Kilburn, situate on the edge of North York Moors National Park. Our return section is via High Kilburn and Oldstead towards Shandy Hall, former home of Laurence Stern.
Most of the route is on field and farm paths. Recent wet weather has resulted in muddy sections, mainly in low-lying areas. There will be minimal road walking near villages. Some stiles and a few hills along the way but not strenuous.
Walking poles will be helpful for muddy areas.
Coxwold car park has public toilets and there is an honesty box.
