We are the Pontypool Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From the start point this walk traverses the lower slopes of the Sugar Loaf, descending to the hamlet of Bettws before entering delightful Cwm Bryn Arw. Continuing, we cross fields to the scattered community of Pantygelli before climbing to the Deri ridge on the Sugar Loaf and returning to the start point.

Ascent approx. 1200 feet. 3 stiles. The main climb on the route is just before lunch from Pantygelli to the Deri Ridge. This will be taken at a slow pace!
Post walk refreshments at The Crown at Pantygelli and/or the leaders house in Fforest Coalpit (tea and cake only!)
