From Haywood National Trust car park, we follow paths down through Haywood to join the Derwent Valley Heritage Way. The riverside path takes us across fields and through Coppice Wood towards Hathersage. After coffee we have an uphill section taking us over the railway and up to Hathersage Booths, where we have lovely extensive views across the Hope valley.
We make our way onto Hathersage Moor to the rocky outcrop of Over Owler Tor with views towards Stanage. After crossing to Toad’s Mouth we enter Longshaw and have our lunch break.
Good open paths across Longshaw take us back to the car park.
Please wear appropriate footwear as paths may be muddy.
Please bring food and drinks for our breaks.
There are toilets at the Longshaw visitor centre.
In case of bad weather, please contact the walk leader on the morning of the walk.
