We are the South Birmingham Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This a pleasant flat (total ascent 202ft total descent 181ft) circular walk with no stiles. The walk starts at the free car park adjacent to St Peters school in Droitwich and proceeds through the nearby park, Droitwich Town Centre and onto the Droitwich Junction Canal.
The walk eventually branches off onto the Worcester and Birmingham Canal and returns to the car park via some pleasant countryside a small section of lane and across Gaudet Luce Golf Club.
The recent recce did highlight some hazards i.e. mud/silt following flooding and stretches of the canal have protruding tree roots. In addition, at the time of the recce a tree had fallen across the towpath, it is however passable with care. The obstruction has been reported to the Canal and River Trust and it is hoped it will be removed before the walk. Given the above l strongly recommend stout boots and walking poles/pole.
Take your preferred route to junction 4 of the M5 (Lydiate Ash roundabout) and proceed south on the M5 to Junction 5 the Droitwich turnoff. Take the A38 towards Droitwich and at the first major junction just past the Chateau Impney turn left onto the B4065 towards Droitwich Town Centre. At the next major set of lights/crossroads turn left onto the B4090 then turn almost immediately right onto The Holloway and drive approx. half a mile until you reach St Peters Church Lane on your right. The Car Park is on the right at the end of St Peters Lane.
