Overview

Sunday 2nd November :Hallow, Worcestershire.

Length 10 miles

Total Ascent: 425ft

Meeting Point: Hallow Park car park
Post Code: WR2 6PP
Start Time: 10.00
W3W: remarked.relieves.clever

ROUTE DESCRIPTION: We follow the route in a clockwise direction. Leaving the car park we turn right several yards down the road, past St.Phillip & St.James’church, (Grade 2 listed building which references Dr.Charles Bell (Bell’s Palsy) who is buried in the old churchyard nearby.) The walk then takes us through a gentle landscape of fields both pasture and arable, past Lovington Grange, Peachly Manor Farm and on to Shoulton Farm, an established farm since before 1747. The woodland nearby is where I plan to have coffee, among the trees and a carpet of golden beech leaves.
Onward to Sinton Green (dates back to the medieval period) for a lunch stop with limited shelter.
We return to Hallow following the Severn Way for a mile or so and up through Hallow Park.
There were cattle on the recce although they were calm and subdued in the rain! For everyone’s safety observe the important guidelines: stay close together, no talking, look down and walk calmly and steadily.
It’s that time of year so if you use them, gaiters and walking poles will make life easier!
Hope to see you there,
Mary James
