We are the Penrith Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk offers stunning views, a well marked trail and a relatively easy ascent, leaving the village through farmland, then following Easedale Beck and Sourmilk Gill, with its spectacular waterfall, up to the Tarn: a mountain tarn surrounded by an amphitheatre fells. A circular route is planned descending down Far Easedale Gill, the other side of the waterfall and beck. This entails crossing the narrow beck using stepping stones
Although it is a low level walk there are some short steeper sections which are rocky and uneven.
