Overview

A circular walk starting from Falmer Pond (near Stanmer). Walking north through Stanmer Park, east to the ridge of the South Downs, then circling west to Ditchling Beacon before descending through Stanmer Woods and round the back of the University campus, returning to our start point.

Potential tea/pee breaks at Stanmer Cafe, the Pink Pit Stop (if it's open) and at the Beacon where we will pause for lunch. Please bring a packed meal, although it should be possible to buy something to eat at Stanmer on our outward journey if necessary. Pub option near the finish.

Plenty of parking around Falmer Pond.  The start is a 20 minute walk from Falmer railway station through the Amex stadium and over The Drove road.

We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers.
