Overview

Morning walk

This 6 mile walk is based on a walk by Judy Jones in Walks around Malmesbury and N Wiltshire.  “An easy-going walk along the Thames Path from Neigh Bridge to Ewen and back along a pleasant grassy track and quiet country lanes, via Somerford Keynes.  Look out for spring flowers along this section of the mainly shallow and crystal clear river “.

Followed by a group picnic lunch at the picnic site at Neigh Bridge

Afternoon Walk (estimated start 13.45)

An easy, flat 4 mile walk along tracks and quiet lanes passing several lakes and the Swill Brook.

These walks could easily be combined with a visit to the Clattinger Farm Nature Reserve (Wiltshire Wildlife Trust) where spring flowers and possibly early orchids could be seen.

There may be livestock en route and sticks may be useful as it may be slippery.  Please bring lunch and refreshments for two stops.
