Overview

Area Sunday Strenuous Walk.

Distance will be around 11.5miles .

Circular walk. No booking required.

Leader - Imelda Carr (07763 984664)

Distance will be around 11.5 miles and around 2200ft ascent/descent.
We begin by heading uphill through Bolehill Wood and Quarry, to reach Owler Tor via Lawrence field. We follow a rocky route - Mother Cap then Over Owler Tor and then Higger Tor. From there we walk over Hathersage Moor ,climbing the fort en route. There is mild peril in leaping  across Burbage Brook, followed by the perils of crossing busy roads as we venture towards Totley Moor before returning to descend on to the gentle slopes of the Longshaw Estate. Our return to the train station is through Oaks Wood and Nether Padley.
Return trains are 15.29, then 17.29. On my recce, I caught the latter.Just so you know.
