Overview

A varied spring walk starting at Guildford station, walking along Wey South Path, then crossing the Wey to join the North Downs Way, up to St Martha's church where we will stop briefly to look at the view.  Then on to Newlands Corner for lunch.  We then descend along a path, taking a short section of the Pilgrims' Way to join the Downs Link Path up to Blackheath and then back down to the Wey again, to return to Guildford.

There are 2 sections that are extremely muddy on the second half of the walk and there are some steep climbs and descents so please wear appropriate footwear.

Please bring a packed lunch as there is a kiosk at Newlands Corner but it is very busy with long queues at times.

Drop out point where the Downs Link crosses the A248 (about 1 hour after the lunch stop) there is a bus at 30 minutes past the hour to Guildford.

No booking required.

The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
